PLANNING SCARY GOALS

Uncategorized Feb 11, 2020

Fridays are usually my creative days.

Days that I set aside client work, I limit my daily to do's and biz upkeep and I put content creation at the forefront of my mind and so today got me thinking...

One of the biggest reasons we don't move forward in our businesses (and lives really) is because we're not taking the time to actually do the work.

I'm not talking about the work of our business.

I'm also not talking about business upkeep.

I'm talking about the other work.

The work of daydreaming, creating.

Asking ourselves "what if"... instead of "how"...

See, we get so caught up in doing the work and keeping up that those "one day" ideas keep getting pushed out further and further until, sadly, they become "never" ideas.

In that, we never get to them.

Lack of time's always an issue.

Trust me, I get it. I mean, I just had a baby!

But if we're really passionate about what we want, can we really afford not to spend a little time each week daydreaming and brainstorming?

So we're short on time - what do we do?

+ Schedule 1/2 a day or at the very least (1) hour per week dedicated to brainstorming our big ideas

+ Take notes. This way when you pick back up with the idea next week, you're not backtracking and wasting time

+ Only focus on the fun. Don't think about the nitty gritty details. At least not yet. There's plenty of time for that when you get into doing the work. For now, it's all about the wild, crazy "Omg, I would LOVE to _____!" ideas

You Get To:

Before you jump into the weekend, spend a few minutes and schedule this time out in your calendar for next week. And then guard that time as if your business depended on it.
